Water comes from the lake: the sauna gets cold water and the kitchen also gets hot water through a small capacitor. Drinking water can be obtained in cannisters from the cottage owner. There is an outhouse and a woodshed in a separate outdoor building.
Kesähonka cottage is 15 meters away from lake Juolasvesi, whose shore is sandy and child-friendly. There is a path leading to the lake made from natural stone. The area surrounding the cottage is old mixed pine forest. The nearest neighbor is 100 meters away, with no line of sight.
